What Grape Ice tastes like

There are two ways to do grape and the cheap ones manage neither. You either get a syrupy grape candy that coats your teeth, or a thin artificial grape that fades after a dozen puffs. This one sits in the middle. The inhale brings in a dark, almost jammy grape with a little sourness underneath, the draw settles into a rounder fruit note, and the exhale cools with a clean menthol finish. It is the sort of flavour that still works at the end of a long evening rather than just the first five minutes. On the MAX the stainless steel body and the visible oil tank keep it cold in the hand, which makes the ice read as colder than it would in a plastic device.

How the GROO MAX 10000 holds up day to day

The body is stainless steel instead of the usual plastic shell, which is why it survives a bag or a glove box. The oil tank is transparent, so you can see how much is left rather than finding out mid-puff, and it is not a device that asks you to fuss over anything.

Who the GROO MAX 10000 PUFFS Grape Ice suits

• Anyone who wants grape ice and has been disappointed by what passes for it in other devices.
• Vapers who would rather buy a device they will finish than one they will replace early.
• Vapers who work outdoors or travel, and anyone who has cracked a plastic-bodied disposable before.
• First-time buyers who want something simple: you draw from the mouthpiece, because there is no button and there is nothing to set up.

How to use the GROO MAX 10000 PUFFS Grape Ice

1. Open the box and take it out. It arrives filled, so there is nothing to prepare.
2. Draw slowly through the mouthpiece rather than taking a hard pull. Most of the flavour is in the middle of the draw.
3. Keep an eye on the display or the tank window, and finish the device rather than pushing it past the end of the juice.
